From the oregano family, it has antispasmodic, antioxidant, analgesic, decongestant and diuretic properties. It also improves circulation, supports the menstrual cycle, and reduces muscle tension.
Though not widely used in the US until after WWII, Marjoram has been used by Ancient Greeks (who believed the plant was created by Aphrodite, goddess of love), Sephardi Jews, and was even used by Hippocrates as an antiseptic.
