The hydraulic mosaic first appears in Portugal at the beginning of the 20th century. Produced manually, each is one-of-a-kind. Its unique color, soft texture, and matte finish can only be achieved through a traditional manufacturing process. These mosaic patterns are seen all over Portugal - in old neighborhood shops, churches, hospitals, museums, markets and homes. They showcase colors, rhythm, style and (hi)stories that live on.
