Beija Flor Portuguese Patterns Notecard + Envelope // Tile Pattern 1
This collection of notecards and envelopes by Beija Flor, showcases a set of unique and enthralling patterns that were gathered from locations all over Portugal.
The Arabic influence brings the tile to Portugal in the middle of the 16th century. For 500 years, the Portuguese have adapted it and recreated it in original and unique ways. The pattern tile appears in the 19th century, covering thousands of façades around the country. Repeating patterns, rhythmical compositions, full of color and light, make the pattern tile a true Portuguese symbol, one to value and protect.
